Speaking of Dogs Rescue Program is a registered non-profit, volunteer-based dog rescue in Toronto that has been operational since 2001.  We are dedicated to assisting dogs from shelters, puppy mills, veterinary clinics and owner abandonments.  Good relationships with various shelters and rescues throughout Ontario allow us to work together to help dogs in need.  We publish the ‘Breed Specific and All Breed Rescue Directory’ annually which has helped thousands of shelter dogs receive the second chance they deserve.

Speaking of Dogs Rescue Program is also a member of two umbrella charities:  Helping Homeless Pets and K9 Rescue Me.

Goals

Our main goal is to end cruelty, abandonment, mistreatment, and homelessness of man’s best friend.   In pursuit of this goal we are dedicated to:

  • Finding permanent homes for dogs in need with responsible, caring and compassionate people and providing post-adoption support
  • Providing dogs with loving foster homes, medical care and, when needed behaviour modification training until a permanent home can be found
  • Fundraising in an effort to help cover rescue related costs such as medical care, grooming, boarding, food and supplies (such a microchips, collars, harnesses and leashes).
  • Educating and enlightening people about dogs through public events, newsletter publication and the hosting of dog training and behaviour seminars
